Sean Garrity

Sean Garrity has a strong background in the pharmaceutical and biotechnology industry with experience at several prominent companies. Sean currently holds the position of Vice President of Strategy and Portfolio Management at Affini-T Therapeutics. Prior to this, Sean worked at Takeda where they served as Head of Technical Project Management for Cell Therapies and later as a Global Program Lead for Cell Therapies. Before their time at Takeda, Sean held the role of CMC Team Lead and Senior Manager of Enabling Technologies at bluebird bio. Sean also worked at Novartis as a Principal Scientist in Strategy & Automation for the Cell & Gene Therapies Unit, as well as in various other scientific roles within the company. Sean began their career as a Postdoctoral Fellow at Harvard Medical School in the Department of Microbiology and Molecular Genetics.

Sean Garrity earned a Bachelor's Degree in Life Sciences - Microbiology from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign in 2001. Sean then went on to pursue a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Microbiology and Molecular Genetics at Harvard University, which they completed in 2010.
