Andy Allen has a diverse work experience that spans multiple industries and roles. Recently, they have been serving as the Vice President of Health Services and External Partnerships at Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Louisiana since February 2023.
Prior to this, they worked at inHealth Strategies, LLC, where they held various positions such as Senior Partner, Partner, Principal Consultant, Engagement Manager, and Consultant between 2017 and 2023.
Andy also has experience at the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation as a Culture of Health Leader from 2016 to 2019, and at the Office of the Mayor-President, City of Baton Rouge, Parish of East Baton Rouge as an Outreach Officer from 2013 to 2017.
Andy'sprevious work includes roles at Teach For America as a Corps Member Advisor and 2011 Corps Member - South Louisiana between 2010 and 2013, and at East Baton Rouge Parish School System as a Science Teacher from 2011 to 2013.
Furthermore, they have experience working at US Forest Service and Rocky Mountain Nature Association in outdoor-related positions in 2010 and 2009 respectively.
Lastly, they started their career as an Intern in Financial Services Advisor at First Market Bank in 2008, and also worked as a Sharpe Community Scholars Teaching Fellow at College of William and Mary from 2008 to 2009.
Andy Allen earned a B.A. in Economics and History from William & Mary in 2011. In 2015, they pursued a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree at Southeastern Louisiana University, which they completed in 2016. Prior to these higher education pursuits, Andy obtained an Advanced Diploma from Douglas S. Freeman High School in 2007.
