Cindy Wakefield

Cindy Wakefield has over 20 years of experience in corporate communications and strategic brand management. Cindy currently serves as the Vice President of Strategic Communications at Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Louisiana, where they are responsible for managing a team of almost 40 communications and marketing professionals. Prior to this, they held the position of Vice President of Corporate Communications at Tivity Health (formerly Healthways), where they provided strategic counsel and support to the CEO and executive leadership team. Cindy has also held various leadership roles at Anthem, Inc., including Staff Vice President of Corporate Communications, where they provided communications counsel for business units and c-level executives. Cindy has extensive experience in crisis management and has managed communications for privacy and security issues, as well as natural disasters. Cindy's earlier experience includes roles in media relations at Emory University and public relations at HealthSouth, La Rabida Children's Hospital, and Carraway Northwest Medical Center. Cindy began their career as a staff reporter at The Journal Record.

Cindy Wakefield earned a Bachelor's degree in Communications from The University of Alabama between 1991 and 1994.
