Larry Babio

Larry Babbio is the Chief Executive Officer and Chair of the Board of Afiniti.

Prior to Afiniti, he served as Vice Chairman and President of Verizon, where he had responsibility for Verizon Telecom and was on the board of Verizon Wireless.

Larry also served as Vice Chairman of Bell Atlantic Corporation, from 1995 until the formation of Verizon through the merger of Bell Atlantic and GTE Corporation; as President and Chief Operating Officer of Bell Atlantic; and Chairman, Chief Executive Officer and President of Bell Atlantic Enterprises International, Inc.

Larry served as a member of the board of directors of Aramark from 1999 to 2017 and has also served on the board of directors of Canara Inc., a technology company, since 2014; and as a Senior Advisor to Warburg Pincus, a private equity firm, from June 2007 until March 2012. In May 2002, Larry was elected to the board of directors of Hewlett-Packard Company. He had previously served on the board of Compaq Computer Corporation since 1995.

He served as a director on the board of the Wallace Foundation, a national philanthropic organization that seeks to improve learning and enrichment for disadvantaged children, from 2006 to 2018, and is currently on the board of Stevens Institute of Technology, a private, coeducational research university located in Hoboken, New Jersey.

Larry graduated with a bachelor’s of engineering degree from Stevens Institute of Technology in 1966 and holds an M.B.A. degree from New York University.
