Ron Watt

Ron Watt has extensive experience in coaching and education, currently serving as the Manager of Member Services and Coach Development at the AFL Coaches' Association since February 2014, focusing on the development and mentoring of professional coaches. Prior to this, Ron held the position of Director of Football at Geelong College from April 2005 to April 2014, where responsibilities included overseeing a football program for students in years 7-12 and managing a team of up to 30 coaches. Ron's background includes a significant tenure at Geelong Cats, where a combination of roles as a Professional AFL Coach and Player Development Manager spanned from October 1998 to February 2014, providing coaching and rehabilitation support to athletes. Earlier career experience includes various educational roles within the Department of Education & Training in Victoria from January 1985 to October 1998, with a focus on special education. Academic qualifications consist of a Bachelor of Education from Deakin University, a Graduate Diploma of Special Education from the University of Melbourne, and a Graduate Certificate in Elite Athlete Mentoring from ACAP University College.
