Fernando Aguayo, PhD has a diverse work experience background. Fernando worked at AFP HABITAT from January 2014 to May 2018, starting as a Senior Investment Analyst and later becoming a Quantitative Strategist. In their roles, they conducted quantitative analysis of financial and economic data, developed risk and performance metrics for the investment portfolio, and constructed and back-tested investment strategies. Prior to their time at AFP HABITAT, they pursued a PhD in Applied Mathematics at The University of Nottingham from September 2009 to September 2013. Fernando also completed an internship at Institut Universitaire des Systèmes Thermiques Industriels (IUSTI) from January 2009 to August 2009, where they focused on the influence of fractal landscape in forest fire propagation.

Fernando Aguayo, PhD, completed their education in a chronological manner. Fernando began their academic journey by pursuing a Licenciatura en Ciencias, Mencion Fisica degree in Physics at Universidad de Chile from 2002 to 2005. After completing their undergraduate studies, they furthered their education and obtained a Master of Science (MSc) degree in Physics from the same institution, Universidad de Chile, from 2006 to 2008. Continuing their pursuit of academic excellence, they enrolled at the University of Nottingham in 2009 and successfully earned a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Mathematics.
