Takudzwa Marembo

National Coordinator at Africa CDC

Takudzwa Marembo is currently serving as the National Coordinator at Africa CDC, facilitating multi-disciplinary teams and supporting the Savings Lives and Livelihoods Program. Takudzwa holds a position as a Regional Mentor for the Qualifying the Workforce for AMR Surveillance project at the African Society for Laboratory Medicine, having previously contributed as an in-country trainer to enhance capacity for antimicrobial resistance surveillance. Takudzwa's academic career includes lecturing in Medical Microbiology at Midlands State University, with prior experience as a Medical Laboratory Scientist at Parirenyatwa Group of Hospitals, focusing on microbiology and infection control. Takudzwa has extensive involvement in outbreak response initiatives, including cholera and Ebola, at Africa CDC, where responsibilities included laboratory coordination and training. Educational achievements include a Master's degree in Medical Microbiology from the University of Zimbabwe and ongoing studies for a Master's degree in Public Health from the University of Suffolk.
