Ebrima Sawaneh

Ebrima Sawaneh has a diverse work experience spanning multiple industries. Ebrima is currently serving as the Chief Operating Officer at Arise Ports & Logistics, a position they have held since April 2022. Prior to this role, they were the Chief Financial Officer at the same company, starting in August 2020.

Before joining Arise Ports & Logistics, Ebrima worked at Africa Finance Corporation for several years. Additionally, they held positions at Guaranty Trust Bank Gambia Ltd, where they served as the Team Leader of the Trade Services Unit and Senior Transaction Officer.

Ebrima Sawaneh has a Bachelor's Degree in Applied Accounting from Oxford Brookes University, which they obtained from 2006 to 2012. Ebrima also attended ACCA from 2007 to 2009 and became a Chartered Certified Accountant. In 2012, they pursued a Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.) in Finance from Edinburgh Business School, Heriot-Watt University. Additionally, they obtained a West African Senior Secondary School qualification in Commerce from Nusrat Senior Secondary School from 2000 to 2003.

In terms of certifications, Ebrima obtained the Fellow of Chartered Certified Accountants (FCCA) designation from ACCA in 2015 and became a Member Certified Chartered Accountant in 2010. Ebrima also holds a Certified Islamic Finance Executive™ (CIFE™) certification from the Ethica Institute of Islamic Finance in 2016. Furthermore, Ebrima has completed various online courses, including the Leadership and Management Certificate Program from Wharton Online and the IBM Data Science and Business Statistics and Analysis Specialization from Coursera Course Certificates. Ebrima also completed the Institute for Mergers, Acquisitions and Alliances (IMAA) program as an International Mergers & Acquisitions Expert (IM&A) in 2022. Finally, they attended the Succeeding as a Strategic CFO program at Harvard Business School Executive Education in 2021.
