Miguel Marin Lopez

Miguel Marin Lopez is a postdoctoral researcher at the Africa Health Research Institute since January 2024, focusing on HIV immunopathogenesis in the gut under Dr. Henrik Kløverpris. Previously, Miguel completed a PhD at IrsiCaixa AIDS Research Institute from October 2018 to January 2024, working within the VIRIEVAC Group on viral immune evasion and vaccines. Miguel's research experience includes internships at the Bellvitge Biomedical Research Institute and the Institut d’Investigacions Biomèdiques August Pi i Sunyer, where projects involved cancer virotherapy and the design of oncolytic adenoviruses, respectively. Academic qualifications include a PhD in Biomedicine from Universitat Pompeu Fabra, a Master's in Translational Medicine from the Universitat de Barcelona, and two degrees in Biotechnology from Universitat Rovira i Virgili and Universitat de Barcelona, complemented by a course in research training on animal experimentation.
