Tom Kirkwood

Tom Kirkwood is the CEO and founder of Africa InSight Communications, a prominent content and media creation company based in Nairobi, Kenya, which Tom has led since August 2012. Under Tom's leadership, the company expanded to nearly 30 full-time staff and a large contractor team by 2016, producing various TV series and live productions. In addition to running Africa InSight, Tom is actively involved as the founding editor at bird story agency and SPNAfrica, where Tom designs editorial processes and builds platforms. Tom's extensive experience also includes directing documentaries for CGTN and serving as the executive producer of Africa Today News Feed. Prior to these roles, Tom had a significant career at Thomson Reuters, where Tom advanced African news media and developed innovative content delivery systems. Tom holds a BA (Hons) degree from the University of Cape Town and has an International Baccalaureate from Waterford Kamhlaba in Swaziland.
