Hassen Ben Ayed

Hassen Ben Ayed has extensive work experience in infrastructure investments and project analysis. Hassen started their career as a Trainee at Société Tunisienne de l'Electricité et du Gaz (STEG) in 2007, followed by a traineeship at Akremi BET in 2007 and UHD in 2008. In 2009, they worked as a Master Trainee at INRIA before joining SCET-TUNISIE as an Economist Engineer in 2009. At SCET-TUNISIE, they conducted feasibility studies and traffic analysis for various infrastructure projects in several countries.

In 2015, Hassen worked as a Guest Lecturer at the Tunisia Polytechnic School, providing lectures on their expertise. Hassen furthered their career by joining the African Development Bank Group in 2016, where they held multiple positions such as Young Professional, Strategy and Policy Officer, Investment Officer for the private sector and transport, and Senior Investment Officer. In these roles, they played a significant role in infrastructure investment and development in Africa.

In addition to their work at the African Development Bank Group, Hassen also worked as an Infrastructure Specialist at the Infrastructure Consortium for Africa from 2016 to 2017. During this time, they focused on coordinating between partners and stakeholders and contributed to the annual report on Infrastructure financing trends in Africa.

Hassen Ben Ayed completed their undergraduate education at Tunisia Polytechnic School from 2006 to 2009, where they earned a degree in Engineering (Economics and Scientific Management). Their fields of study included Economics, Statistics, Finance, Operational Research, Mathematics, Computer Science, and Mechanics. Hassen then pursued further education at the University of Bradford from 2016 to 2018, obtaining a Postgraduate Certificate (PgC) in Investment Appraisal and Development Project Planning. Prior to that, from 2004 to 2006, Hassen studied at the Université de Tunis and obtained a DEUPC degree in Mathematics and Physics. Hassen also possesses several additional certifications in various areas, acquired between 2016 and 2023, from institutions such as INSEAD Executive Education, Four Quadrant Project Finance, Corporate Finance Institute, Prosci, APMG International, and AXELOS Global Best Practice.
