Leandro Azevedo has a diverse work experience in the finance and climate change sectors. Leandro started their career as an intern at the Risk Management Department of the African Development Bank Group in 2009 and later became an Investment Officer from 2009 to 2011. Leandro then worked as an Energy and Financial Specialist at the Energy, Environment, and Climate Change Department from 2011 to 2016. In 2013, they served as an SEFA Program Officer. Leandro then held the position of Senior Climate Finance Officer from 2014 to 2020 and is currently working in the same organization as a Principal Climate Finance Officer. In 2012, they also worked as a Financial Consultant at International Financial Consulting Ltd., where they developed a financial model for a risk mitigation/guarantee scheme and led the harmonization work for the development of private sector core indicators for 25 DFIs.
Leandro Azevedo obtained a Bachelor's and Master's degree in Economics from Universidade de Coimbra from 2002 to 2007. Leandro then pursued a Master of Science degree in Economics & Business with a specialization in Financial Economics from Erasmus University Rotterdam from 2007 to 2008.
