Martha Violet

Director of Stakeholder Management at African Leadership Group

Martha Violet has a wealth of experience in the fields of fundraising, research, finance, customer service, and communication. In 2018, they became the Director of Stakeholder Management for the African Leadership Group, where they were responsible for leading the stakeholder management and in-bound fundraising, as well as planning and executing high stakes events in Mauritius, Johannesburg, Rwanda, and Ghana. From 2013 to 2018, Martha worked as a Graduate Research Assistant for the Mastercard Foundation Scholars Programme at the University of Edinburgh, where they led the initial research and stakeholder data tracking for a research project used to measure the value of a western higher education experience, versus an African one. Martha also worked as a Graduate Research Assistant for Oklahoma State University from 2013 to 2018, where they maintained study abroad student participant databases and administered daily office financial budget transactions. From 2011 to 2013, Martha worked as a Private Wealth Management for UBS, where they supported the managing director with options trading, trade allocations, and managing equities. From 2008 to 2010, they worked for TCU Campus Recreation & Wellness Promotion as a Member Services Leadership Team, where they were selected as one of four students out of 40 to the leadership team and managed front desk customer service, training and team members, as well as tactical supply management. Finally, in 2010, Martha interned for TechnoServe as a Cotton Team Intern, where they led a communication group and developed a micro-finance structure with bank executives and a cotton processing facility.

Martha Violet obtained their Bachelor of Arts in International Economics from Texas Christian University between 2003 and 2007. Martha then went on to obtain their Master's degree in Development Economics and International Development from the University of California, Berkeley between 2008 and 2010. Additionally, they hold two certifications: Complaints Resolution Official (CRO) from Norwegian and Professional Engineer from the Texas Board of Professional Engineers and Land Surveyors.
