Elizabeth Ekirapa Kiracho

Dr. Elizabeth Ekirapa Kiracho is an accomplished public health expert with more than 15 years of distinguished performance. She is a Senior Lecturer and Health Economist, and the current Chair of the Health Policy Planning & Management (HPPM) department at the Makerere University School of Public Health in Uganda. She also leads the Makerere hub for the Africa Digital Innovations and research center. Elizabeth holds a Bachelor’s degree in Medicine and Surgery from Makerere University as well as a Master’s degree in public health from Makerere University School of Public Health, and a Master’s degree in public health with a focus on Health economics from the University of Cape town. In addition, Elizabeth has a Doctorate in Health systems research from Trinity College Dublin. She has more than 15 years of teaching, managing academic programs and research experience. She has been a Principal Investigator for several grants and has vast experience in managing, conducting, and analyzing health-related research in a variety of fields including health systems, reproductive health, health financing and economic evaluation. Her main areas of expertise are in maternal health, health systems research, health financing and economic evaluation. She has also supported capacity-building activities for both students and district health teams. Elizabeth is also actively engaged in policy dialogues at the district and national levels. She is the Chair for the Advisory Council for Amref Health Africa in Uganda.
