Alypio Nyandwi

Project Officer at APHRC

Alypio coordinates and monitors the implementation of a SIDA-APHRC Fund Management Project related to the Joint Programming Initiative on Antimicrobial Resistance (JPIAMR) Partnership.

The overall objective of the project is to provide fund management support to implementing partners with the aim to increase timeliness, efficiency, and effectiveness in the implementation of the projects at partner institutions; and to strengthen the research and grant management capacities of AMR researchers and implementing partners. The project also envisages building a strong network of Antimicrobial Resistance researchers collaboratively and effectively engaging with policy actors in projects aimed at prevention and treatment of bacterial, parasitic, viral and fungal infections and diseases.

Prior to joining APHRC, Alypio was a public servant in the Rwanda Health Sector for the past 16 years. He lastly served the Rwanda Ministry of Health over the past 9 years, including 2 years as a Medical Education and Research Officer, and over 7 years as a Health M&E and Reports Specialist.
