Sophia Nesri

Sophia Nesri is an experienced communications and resource mobilization consultant currently working with the United Nations since January 2021. Prior to this role, Sophia served as the PIDA Communication Officer at the African Union Commission from January 2017 to January 2020, where responsibilities included strategy implementation for the Programme for Infrastructure Development in Africa. Previous positions at various United Nations entities further demonstrate expertise in international relations, communication strategies, and liaison efforts. Sophia's work at the United Nations Economic Commission for Africa includes consulting and support roles focused on communication, research, and engagement with member States. With educational qualifications including a Master's degree in Mass Communication/Media Studies and a Bachelor's degree in Political Science and International Relations from Addis Ababa University, Sophia has developed a solid foundation in both communication and governance.
