Tanya Pretorius

Tanya Pretorius has a diverse work experience spanning over several years. Tanya started their career in 2010 as an Administration post at Engen Truckstop Beaufort West. From 2012 to 2013, they worked as an Academic Facilitator at Northwest University. In 2014, they served as an Assistant at Communication Studies at North-West University/Noordwes-Universiteit. Tanya then worked in various communication and PR roles, including as a Communications Manager for the Democratic Alliance Gauteng Province, a Media Specialist for the Private Office of the Executive Mayor at the City of Johannesburg, and as a Senior Account Manager at Livewired Public Relations. Tanya also held positions as a Commercial Manager at Project Isizwe and a Key Account Manager at SPACE.TM. Currently, Tanya is the Head of Communications at Afrimat.

Tanya Pretorius has a diverse education history. Tanya obtained a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in Communication and Journalism from Northwest-University, Potchefstroom, which they attended from 2011 to 2014. During their time at Northwest University, they also pursued a BA Honours (Cum Laude) degree in Communication Management, which they completed in 2014. Tanya was recognized for their academic excellence and received the Golden Key in Corporate Communications from Northwest University in 2014.

In addition to their degrees, Tanya also has a background in classical piano and theory. Tanya studied Classical Piano and Theory at the University of South Africa/Universiteit van Suid-Afrika from 2000 to 2008. Furthermore, they attended the Royal School of Music in London for a brief period in 2006.

Tanya has also obtained various certifications to enhance their skills and knowledge. In 2019, they completed the "Fundamentals of Digital Marketing" certification from Google. Furthermore, in 2018, they pursued the "ACJx: Activism and Citizen Journalism through Media" certification offered by the University of the Witwatersrand through edX. Most recently, in 2023, Tanya completed the "Analyzing and Visualizing Data with Microsoft Power BI" certification through Davidson College.
