Marte Heian-Engdal

Marte Heian-Engdal is an accomplished professional with extensive experience in journalism, academia, and conflict resolution. Currently serving as a columnist for Aftenposten and a podcast member for Aftenpodden Midtøsten, Marte also holds roles as a speaker on Middle Eastern affairs and international politics with Brandpeople and as a nonfiction author with Kagge Forlag. Previous leadership positions include being a deputy director and senior advisor at NOREF Norwegian Centre for Conflict Resolution, as well as serving on the board of Redd Barna. Additional experience encompasses working as a senior researcher at the Peace Research Institute Oslo and as a column contributor for Dagsavisen. Marte's academic qualifications include a PhD in International History from the University of Oslo and a Master's in Middle East Security Studies from the University of St Andrews.
