Elizabeth Diaz has a diverse work experience. Elizabeth began their career in 2002 as an Account Executive for Mayor Daley's KidStart Summer Youth: Corporate Initiative, where they worked until 2003. Elizabeth then joined After School Matters, Inc., initially as a Communications Specialist, from 2003 to 2005. From 2005 to 2008, they served as Assistant Director of Programs, and from 2008 to 2015, they held the position of Director of Program Operations. From 2015 to 2016, Elizabeth worked as a Senior Financial Advisor at After School Matters before becoming the Director of Financial Planning and Analysis in 2016. Additionally, in 2011, they worked as an Independent Contractor for The Common Pool, LLC.

Elizabeth Diaz attended Northwestern University from 1999 to 2003 and obtained a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in Mathematics. Elizabeth also holds additional certifications, including a Project Management Seminar (24 hours) from Cadence Management Corporation obtained in June 2016, and a Youth Development Practitioner Certification Program from Harold Washington College and Chicago Area Project.
