Ayana Melvan is currently the Senior Director of Strategic Partnerships for Mission Programs at Mystic Aquarium. Ayana has a background in youth advocacy, with experience at organizations such as the Afterschool Alliance, United Way of Rhode Island, and Riley Institute at Furman University. Ayana has also held positions at Comprehensive Community Action Program, Cranston Public Schools, and Norwich Public Schools. With a Bachelor of Arts in Communications and Film Studies from the University of Massachusetts Amherst, Ayana has demonstrated leadership skills in various roles throughout their career.
