Maliha Afzal

Maliha Afzal, MEd., is a seasoned education professional currently serving as the Student Support Services Coordinator at Aga Khan Academies since August 2022. In this role, Maliha has established the Whole School Student Support Services Department, oversees teams of Learning Support Specialists, and leads various programs in social emotional learning and safeguarding. Prior to this, experience includes working as a Whole School Student Guidance Counselor and Lead Learning Support Specialist at Goldsmiths, University of London, and as Lead Therapist and ABA Class Teacher at Aspiration and Discoveries. Maliha's background features extensive work with special educational needs, as represented by previous roles at Centennial Infant and Child Centre Foundation and The British School of Guangzhou, where achievements include developing individualized programs and inclusive curriculum. Current academic pursuits include a Master of Science in Psychology and Neuroscience of Mental Health at King's College London, building on a strong educational foundation that includes degrees in Education and Environmental Policy.
