Maina Gathinjaga Gĩokõ

Maina Gathinjaga Gĩokõ is an accomplished educational leader with extensive experience in professional development and capacity building within academic institutions. Currently serving as the Head of Professional Development Capacity Center at The Aga Khan Academies since July 2012, Maina directs education project implementation alongside various stakeholders, including ministry agencies and universities. Previous roles include Project Director and Vice Principal for Professional Development and Outreach, where responsibilities involved designing and facilitating continuous professional learning programs, as well as overseeing significant grant-funded projects aimed at strengthening education systems. Maina's academic background includes a Doctorate in Management from SMC University, multiple degrees in education leadership and science education from Aga Khan University, and additional qualifications from Harvard's Graduate School of Education.
