Saleem Islam

Saleem Islam currently serves as the Chair of the Department of Surgery at Aga Khan University, a position held since September 2022. Prior to this role, Saleem Islam gained extensive experience at the University of Florida College of Medicine from January 2007 to September 2022, where responsibilities included serving as Professor, Division Chief of Pediatric Surgery, and Director of various specialized programs. Additional experience includes a role as Assistant Professor of Surgery at the University of Mississippi Medical Center from September 2003 to December 2006. Educational qualifications include a Master of Public Health from the University of Massachusetts Amherst, specialized training in Pediatric Surgery from the University of Michigan, General Surgery Residency from UMass Chan Medical School, and earlier medical education from Harvard Medical School and Aga Khan University.
