Jim brings 30+ years of appraisal experience—mainly focused on commercial and agricultural properties. He currently holds an RPRA (Real Property Review Appraiser) accreditation with the American Society of Farm Managers and Rural Appraisers. Jim is a native Floridian, growing up on a small citrus grove in Winter Haven, Florida. He comes from three generations of real estate professionals in Florida and is the first appraiser in a family of brokers. His understanding of real estate and agricultural land stems from his family and his involvement in the agriculture community as a former 4-H leader.
Prior to AgAmerica, Jim served as the Commercial Department Manager at AREA Real Estate Appraisers, Inc. During his tenure, he was the department supervisor and appraised a variety of commercial properties throughout the state of Florida. He has extensive experience appraising agricultural properties including citrus groves, blueberry farms, pastureland, timberland, nurseries, ranchland, and reclaimed phosphate and mining land. He is also a licensed FAA Part 107 Remote Pilot for Small Unmanned Aircraft Systems (sUAS), allowing Jim to operate drones for commercial use during his onsite appraisals.
As AgAmerica’s Chief Appraiser, Jim oversees the Appraisal and Insurance departments. He reviews appraisal reports for lending purposes and consults with other AgAmericans regarding collateral, valuation, and appraisal issues. By using his appraisal expertise, Jim works to support American farmers and ranchers through ensuring a fair appraisal process.
