Cristina Barbee

Cristina Barbee is a Talent & Culture Specialist at the North Carolina Biotechnology Center since August 2022, focusing on implementing the Total Rewards Strategy and managing internal communications. Previously, Cristina worked as a self-employed copywriter and editor from January 2021 to November 2023, and held roles at Cansortium Inc. as a copywriter/editor and content editor, where collaboration with a creative team and managing content requests were key responsibilities. Early experiences include serving as a student DJ at WXYC, an exam proctor at Measurement Incorporated, an assistant program developer at the Carolina Women's Center, and working in patient financial services at UNC Health Care. Cristina holds a Bachelor of Arts in Latin American and Caribbean Studies and Spanish Language and Literature from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, with additional education from the University of Buenos Aires in 2017.
