Bart de Smet

Bart De Smet is a seasoned executive with extensive leadership experience in the insurance industry. Currently serving as Chairman of the Board and CEO at Ageas Group since 2009, Bart De Smet also holds the position of President at VBO-FEB and is a board member at GUBERNA and De Eik Group. In previous roles, Bart De Smet has contributed as a board member for various organizations, including Muang Thai Holding Co and Tai Ping Life. Bart De Smet's leadership extends to vice-chairman positions at AG Insurance, Etiqa Insurance and Takaful, Ageas in the UK, and IDBI Federal Life Insurance. Educationally, Bart De Smet holds a Licentiate degree in Actuarial Science and Mathematics and a postgraduate degree in Managerial Sciences from KU Leuven.
