Alexandra Monteiro

Alexandra Monteiro possesses extensive experience in solid waste management, having held various leadership roles spanning over two decades. Currently, Alexandra serves as the Coordinatrice de l’Activité Dechets Solides & Task team leader at AFD - Agence Française de Développement since October 2022, after being the Référente Déchets Solides from May 2016 to November 2023. Prior experience includes positions at Antea Group, where responsibilities encompassed international project management and development for solid waste in regions such as Africa and the Middle East, as well as a role at Véolia Propreté managing solid waste treatment projects globally. Early career experience involves engineering and technical roles in Portugal focusing on waste and wastewater management, combined with a solid academic background in geology and environmental management from the University of Lisbon and CFA Institut de l'Environnement Urbain.
