Nicole Madariaga is an experienced economist currently serving as a task team leader for the Andean Countries and Local Finance & Decentralisation divisions at AFD - Agence Française de Développement since January 2010. Previous roles include economist positions at the Economic Analysis and Country Risk Unit and the Local Authorities and Urban Development Unit at AFD. Nicole's experience also encompasses working as an economist in the Foreign Trade Unit at the French Treasury from September 2006 to December 2009, and as a temporary assistant professor in Economics at the Institut National d'Horticulture et du Paysage. Additionally, from September 2000 to August 2005, Nicole held the position of assistant professor at Université Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne, teaching a range of subjects from microeconomics to international trade. Nicole holds a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in International Economics from the University of Paris I: Panthéon-Sorbonne, earned between 2000 and 2004.
