Nicola Shorland

Adviser to the Director, Strategy at AGENCE NATIONALE DES FREQUENCES

Nicola Shorland has a diverse work experience that spans multiple industries and roles. Their most recent position was at ANFR, where they worked as the Adviser to the Director, Strategy starting in February 2019. In this role, they were responsible for developing the Strategic Plan, managing engagement with stakeholders, and overseeing the Performance Contract with the State. They also organized a notable international conference and coordinated innovation-related initiatives.

Prior to ANFR, Nicola worked at the French Telecoms and Postal Regulator from 2011 to 2015, where they served as a Senior Policy Analyst, Regulation. Before that, they held the position of International Relations and Regulation Expert at New Zealand Post from 2008 to 2010. They also worked as a Policy Analyst, Innovation and Regional Development at the Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment from 2005 to 2008. Lastly, Nicola was an Adviser in the Communications directorate at the Commerce Commission from 2004 to 2005.

Nicola Shorland pursued their education at Victoria University of Wellington from 1998 to 2002. During this period, they obtained a Bachelor of Administration (Commercial Law) degree as well as a Bachelor of Arts degree, with a focus on French-Spanish languages. Their academic emphasis was in the fields of public policy and foreign languages.
