Carlos Fernandes, CISSP

Carlos Fernandes is a Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) with over 30 years of experience in the cybersecurity field. Carlos has held various roles in the industry, beginning in 1999 as a Senior Information Assurance Engineer at Electronic Data Systems. In 2002, they became a Principal Engineer at SPARTA, where they provided security engineering and Certification and Accreditation (C&A) support to the DIA DISCO Federate. In 2003, they joined Booz Allen Hamilton as a Project Manager/Technical Director, providing wireless security solutions to government and commercial clients. From 2006-2008, they were a Program Manager at L-3 Communications and a Senior IT Project Manager at Archimedes Global Inc. In 2008, they joined CACI International Inc. as an Information Security Specialist and in 2013, they became the Vice President, Director of Cyber Security at Salient CRGT. In 2012, they founded Agile Cybersecurity Solutions, where they lead a team of elite cybersecurity professionals, and Agile Marketing Group LLC, a company focused on equipping, enabling, and empowering individuals with the fundamental skills necessary to succeed in business as an entrepreneur. Additionally, they are the Managing Partner of Fernandes Real Estate LLC, providing real estate consulting services to real estate investors.

Carlos Fernandes has a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from the Virginia Military Institute, which they obtained between 1986 and 1990. In 1991, they earned a Diploma in Intelligence Analysis and Application from Goodfellow Air Force Base, 315th Training Squadron. In 2002, they completed their Masters of Business Administration in INFOSEC from James Madison University. In addition, they have obtained certifications in INFOSEC Certification for System Administrators from Robert Bigman, Chief, Information Assurance Group in 2011, NSA INFOSEC Assessment Methodology (IAM) from the National Security Agency in 2001, and Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) from the International Information Systems Security Certification Consortium (ISC2) in 2002.
