David Liljewall

Propulsion Design Engineer at Agile Space Industries

David Liljewall has held various positions in the engineering and aerospace industry since 2014. From 2014 to 2020, they worked as a private tutor and as a package handler for FedEx. In 2020, they were a data entry clerk for McKinley & Co. Recruitment and a laboratory assistant for the SHIELD COVID-Testing Program at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. In 2019, they were an undergraduate researcher for the Laboratory for Advanced Space Systems at Illinois (LASSI). In 2018, they were a launch intern for Vehicle Integration at SpaceX. From 2016 to 2021, they were a Technical President, Director of Structures, and Engine Integration Project Manager for THRUST@UIUC. In 2021, they were an Engineering Lead for the Ignis Engine and President of THRUST@UIUC, as well as an undergraduate researcher for the Asteroid, Planetary Defense, and Exoplanet Group (APEX) and the Center for Plasma-Material Interactions (CPMI) at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. In 2022, they began working as a Propulsion Engineer and Propulsion Design Associate Engineer (Part Time) for AGILE Space Industries.

David Liljewall attended Niles North High School from 2010 to 2014. David then went on to the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, graduating in 2022 with a Bachelor of Science in Aerospace Engineering. In April 2022, they obtained an edX Verified Certificate for ENG2000X: A Hands-on Introduction to Engineering Simulations from edX.
