William Francis has extensive work experience in various roles within the aerospace and engineering industries. William is currently serving as the Chief Commercial Officer (CCO) at AGILE Space Industries since February 2023. Prior to this, from November 2022 to March 2023, they worked as a Business Development Consultant with an undisclosed company.
Before that, William held the position of VP of Advanced Programs in the Deployable Solutions Business Unit at Redwire Space from November 2020 to November 2022. William also served as the Chief Product Officer and Co-Founder of Roccor, LLC from January 2019 to October 2020, and as the VP of Engineering and Co-Founder from June 2011 to December 2018.
Additionally, they worked as the VP of Engineering at i2C Solutions from January 2011 to August 2016. Before that, they were the Principal Mechanical Engineer at Bristlecone Engineering, LLC from March 2009 to June 2012. William also held the position of Chief Mechanical Engineer at EverSealed Windows, Inc., but the exact dates are not provided.
In their early career, they worked at Composite Technology Development as the Manager of Emerging Products and Technologies from August 2009 to March 2010, as a Senior Engineer from January 2008 to July 2009, and as an Engineer from December 2001 to January 2008.
Furthermore, before transitioning into the aerospace and engineering industries, William worked as an Electrical Contractor at multiple companies including Breckenridge Elec., Encompass Elec., Encore Elec., Riviera Elec., and Modern Elec. from May 1995 to December 2001. During this time, they obtained a Mechanical Engineering B.S. from Colorado State University and gained experience in fabricating electrical systems in various construction projects, including hospitals and a semiconductor manufacturing facility.
William Francis holds a Master of Science (M.S.) degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Colorado Boulder, which they obtained from 2005 to 2008. Prior to that, they earned a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Mechanical Engineering from Colorado State University between the years 1996 and 2001. In addition to their academic degrees, they have pursued further education and obtained certifications in various areas. These include a Composites Design Workshop III Certificate of Completion from Stanford Aeronautics & Astronautics, obtained in August 2010, a Femap and Nonlinear Analysis Using Nastran Certification from NEi Nastran, obtained in March 2010, and a Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing Certification from the University of Colorado Denver, obtained in April 2004.
