Sunda Gerard began their work experience in 2010 as a School Technology Coordinator at Marion County Board of Educaton, where they repaired computer systems, monitored computer labs, and provided end-user training. Their position ended in 2013. Sunda then worked at Marion County Board of Education as a Teacher from 2009 to 2021, teaching special education and middle school Social Studies. In 2021, they joined Agile5 Technologies, Inc. as a Test Engineer/Scrum Master, where they perform tests and leads Scrum meetings.

From 2015 to 2019, Sunda attended Western Governors University and obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Information Technology.
Prior to that, from 2011 to 2015, Sunda studied at Liberty University and achieved an Education Specialist (Ed. S.) degree in Educational Leadership and Administration, General.
Before pursuing higher education, Sunda attended Fairmont State University. From 2005 to 2008, Sunda earned a Master of Arts - MA degree with a focus on Teaching- Social Studies and Computer Education. Then, from 1994 to 1999, Sunda obtained a Bachelor of Science - BS degree in Business, Management, Marketing, and Related Support Services.
In addition to formal degrees, Sunda has obtained multiple certifications. These include the Professional Scrum Master™ I (PSM I) from Scrum.org, obtained in January 2022; CompTIA Cloud Essentials from CompTIA, obtained in August 2019; CompTIA Project+ from CompTIA, obtained in November 2016; Certified SAFe® 5 Scrum Master from Scaled Agile, Inc., obtained in December 2022; CompTIA A+ ce from CompTIA, obtained in July 2016; CompTIA Network+ from CompTIA, obtained in July 2017; and CompTIA Security+ from CompTIA, obtained in August 2017.
