Maria Virginia Alvarez M.

Maria Virginia Alvarez M. has worked in various roles since 2009. Starting as a Student Assistant for the Head of the Interactive Media Design Program at Universidad Icesi in 2009, they then became a Student Assistant for HCI (Human Computer Interaction) course in 2010. In 2012, they were an Asistente de Diseño at Laprog Software S.A. and a Student Assistant for the Faculty of Law and Social Sciences website at Universidad Icesi. From 2013 to 2015, Maria was a Digital Transformation Ally and Programadora Web at OWAK Digital Agency, where they created HTML marketing emails and managed the brand’s Drupal-Based CMS. Lastly, from 2015 to present, Maria has been an Agile Project Manager and Product Owner at Agileana - Lean, Agile, Development and Digital Services. In this role, they have managed implementation of goals, objectives, requirements and work standards with Georgetown University and US State Department for their global English Language Program’s online platforms. Maria also co-led the creation of an original Symfony extension for Drupal 7 to replace and optimize the client’s most tedious manual process.

Maria Virginia Alvarez M. has a Bachelor of Applied Science (B.A.Sc.) in Interactive Media Design from Universidad ICESI (2007-2013). Maria Virginia also has an Academic Exchange from the Köln International School of Design in Design (2010-2011). Additionally, they have obtained various certifications, including a Women's Leadership Program from the Yale School of Management (May 2022), an Acquia Certified Site Builder - Drupal 8 from Acquia (October 2018), a Certified Scrum Product Owner® (CSPO®) from the Scrum Alliance (December 2015), a Certified ScrumMaster® (CSM) from the Scrum Alliance (March 2017), an AdWords certification from Google (June 2015), an Analytics certification from Google (June 2015), and a Video Advertising certification from Google (June 2015).
