Pedro Morais has a diverse work experience. Pedro began their career in 2014 as a Software Development Intern for Autodesk. During their internship, they worked on getting preliminary Oculus Rift compatibility for Autodesk Inventor/Flow Design and designed a physics and simulation environment for exporting and testing Autodesk Inventor-based CAD models of FIRST Robotics Challenge robots. In 2015, they returned to Autodesk as a Software Development Intern and led a sub-team of 3 interns on beginning the process of transitioning from Unity into a custom Bullet Physics based engine. From 2016 to 2019, they worked as a Research Assistant at Oregon State University. During their time there, they developed novel monte carlo planners and deep reinforcement learning approaches for low level and hierarchical control of highly underactuated robots. Pedro also developed an open-source framework for training deep reinforcement learning based control policies for robots. In 2019, they began working as a Controls Engineer for Agility Robotics.
Pedro Morais completed their education history with a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from Oregon State University, from 2015 to 2019. Prior to this, they attended Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul for a year in 2018, studying Ciência da Computação. Pedro began their education at Crescent Valley High School, from 2012 to 2015.
