Vaibhav Mehta has been working in the software engineering industry since 2013. Vaibhav began their career as a Research and Development Intern at Bosch in 2013, followed by a Research and Development Intern at BMW Group in 2014. Vaibhav then worked as an Autonomy Developer and Senior Autonomy Developer at Clearpath Inc. from 2014 to 2017. In 2017, they moved to DAQRI as a Senior Engineer. In 2019, they joined Zebra Technologies as an Advanced Computer Vision Developer, where they worked on the Navigation team for the EMA Smartsight system and developed a Lidar standalone SLAM system for navigable map generation. In 2021, they became the Technical Co-Founder at Dropoff AI, where they lead all Prototyping, Research, Production and Support of Engineering efforts, and builds SaaS services for address understanding, cleaning and geocoding, as well as location verification and understanding from Proof-of-Delivery Images. Vaibhav is currently a Senior Software Engineer - Localization and Mapping at Agility Robotics since 2022.
Vaibhav Mehta obtained their Bachelor's Degree in Communication and Computer Engineering from The LNM Institute of Information Technology in 2012. Vaibhav then completed a Bachelor's Thesis and Research Internship in Robotics at Università degli Studi di Cassino e del Lazio Meridionale. Following this, they earned a Master's Degree in Computer Science from Jacobs University Bremen in 2014. Vaibhav then completed a Master's Thesis in Computer Vision and Robotics at Technical University of Munich.
