Michael Butler

Michael Butler is an experienced professional in power development and renewable energy, currently serving as the Senior Manager of Power Development at AGL since 2022. Prior to this role, Michael held significant positions at EDL as Senior Projects Manager for Renewable Energy, and at Rio Tinto as Senior Projects Manager for Integrated Control Centre and Renewable Energy initiatives. Previous experience includes roles at Newcrest Mining Limited, Kumul Petroleum Holdings Limited, APA, Energex, Fonterra, and Genesis Energy, covering aspects of energy project management, asset management, and operations management. Michael Butler holds a Master of Technology and a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from The University of Waikato.
