Liran Shmuel has extensive work experience in various roles related to agro-tech and agriculture.
Liran is currently working at Agmatix as the Head of Solution Management, a position they have held since February 2023. Prior to this, they were a Sales Engineer at the same company starting from February 2022. Liran also worked as an Agronomy team-lead at Agmatix starting from February 2021.
Before joining Agmatix, Liran worked as an Advisor for Venture Capital Funds and private investors in Agro-Tech in 2019. Their role involved providing advisory services to institutional investors, analyzing and evaluating the ag-tech sector, and generating reports on startup companies' feasibility and risks.
Liran also gained valuable experience at CropX Technologies LTD, where they worked as a Remote Sensing modeling and GIS R&D Agronomist from January 2018 to December 2020. In this role, they invented and implemented new methods for remote sensing and precision agriculture applications, leading a team to deliver high-quality products.
In 2020, Liran worked at KANAT as a Remote Sensing specialist for the damage assessment system. Liran led a product team and developed new technologies for the insurance industry, incorporating remote damage assessment using machine learning algorithms.
Prior to their roles in the agro-tech industry, Liran worked at Hebrew University of Jerusalem as a Research and Teaching Assistant. Liran taught the "Introduction to GIS" course and received recognition as the employee of the year twice. Liran also worked as a Precision Agriculture Services Consultant from 2016 to 2018, providing GIS and remote sensing services to private sectors and company customers.
Liran's early career included work in the Israeli Air Force (IAF) as a Lead Project Manager from August 2009 to August 2012. Liran was involved in long-term R&D development for IDF special forces and led the R&D division. Liran also served as a Major in the Air Force from November 2004 to August 2009.
Liran Shmuel completed a Bachelor of Science in Agronomy and Crop Science at The Hebrew University of Jerusalem from 2012 to 2015. Following that, from 2015 to 2018, Liran pursued a Master of Science in Agro-informatics and Crop Science at the same university.
