Alec Gilvesy

Alec Gilvesy is a Ground Control Engineer-in-Training at Agnico Eagle Mines Limited, a position held since June 2023. Previously, Alec served as an Undergraduate Teaching Assistant and Mentor at the University of Toronto Engineering, facilitating tutorials focused on engineering ethics and experiences. Prior experience includes a Mine Engineering Co-Op Student role at Agnico Eagle Mines Limited, where Alec gained valuable insights in survey, ground control, and mine planning. Earlier roles involved general labor at Environs Wholesale Nursery, heritage interpretation at Long Point Region Conservation Authority, and leadership in day camp activities for children. Alec holds a Bachelor of Applied Science in Mining and Mineral Engineering from the University of Toronto, obtained in April 2023, and an Ontario Secondary School Diploma from Glendale High School, awarded in 2018.
