Derick Unger is a seasoned geologist with extensive experience in the mining and exploration sectors. Currently serving as a Senior Project Evaluations Geologist at Agnico Eagle Mines Limited since November 2024, Unger has previously held significant positions, including Vice President of Exploration and Chief Geologist at NevGold Corp. from July 2021 to November 2024, and Resource Geologist at Mine Development Associates from March 2019 to June 2021. Additional roles include Chief Exploration Geologist at NuLegacy Gold Corporation and Senior Exploration Geologist at Nyrstar, among others. Unger possesses a Master’s Degree in Geology from Auburn University and a Bachelor’s Degree in Geology from Indiana State University, with experience that also includes academic positions as a Graduate Teaching Assistant and Undergraduate Research Assistant.
