Michael P. Opela, Sr., P.E., S.E., M.ASCE, GC has extensive work experience in the field of engineering and construction. Michael P. started their career at Trussman, Inc. as a Truss Designer/System Administrator, where they worked on residential, multi-family, and commercial truss design. Michael P. then joined The Weintraub Organization as a Project Manager, overseeing the structural design of residential and multi-family projects.

In 2001, Opela joined Caruso Turley Scott, Inc. as a Project Designer, where they were responsible for gravity and lateral calculations and preparing construction documents. Michael P. then started their own companies, Opela Web Worx, Inc. and Opela Worx Structural Engineers, Inc. (OWSE, Inc.), where they served as President and Vice-President, respectively. At OWSE, Inc., they prepared gravity and lateral calculations, coordinated workload, and ensured projects met schedules and budgets.

Opela also worked as the Director of Forensic Investigations at Forensic Building Science (FBS) and Vice-President at PLANCENTRAL, a website dedicated to providing construction documents. Additionally, they worked as a Senior Structural Engineer at EDC Management Corporation, providing structural design support to the industrial and manufacturing community.

From 2013 to 2014, Opela served as the Structural Engineering Manager at Wausau Window and Wall Systems, setting design and engineering standards for the company and supervising a team of associates. Michael P. then joined AGRA Industries, Inc. in various roles, including Vice President of Engineering and General Contracting Representative.

Throughout their career, Opela has demonstrated expertise in structural and mechanical engineering, as well as project management and leadership.

Michael P. Opela, Sr. pursued their undergraduate studies from 1987 to 1991 at Minnesota State University, Mankato. During this period, they obtained a Bachelor of Science degree with a major in Accounting/Computer Science.
