Ken Silsby

Ken Silsby has extensive experience in the agricultural sector, serving as the Eastern Technical Manager at AgroFresh since 2006, providing technical sales support for products such as SmartFresh and Harvista across the eastern United States and Canada. Prior to this role, Ken worked at Sun Orchard Fruit Company in field service and quality control from 1996 to 2006, and as an Area Extension Specialist at Cornell Cooperative Extension from 1986 to 1996, focusing on fruit maturity, storage, and marketing programs. Ken has contributed to the academic community by co-authoring works including "Predicting Harvest Date Windows for Apples" and "The Generic Starch-Iodine Index Chart for Apples." Earlier career experience includes quality control at Belle Harvest Fruit Sales from 1984 to 1986. Ken holds a Bachelor of Science in Agricultural and Extension Education Services and a Master of Science in Horticulture (Pomology) and Agricultural Economics, both from Cornell University. Ken plans to retire on January 1, 2016, transitioning to a consulting role.
