Javier Alarcon

Javier Alarcon is an experienced professional in social development and program management with a career spanning over 20 years. Currently serving as the Representative in Peru for AVSF - Agronomes et Vétérinaires Sans Frontières since October 2020, Javier has previously held significant roles including Coordinator of Integral and Sustainable Alternative Development at DEVIDA Perú and Program Coordinator at Welthungerhilfe, where Javier led program planning and execution in South America. Javier's expertise encompasses project oversight, rural services development, social impact assessments for extractive industries, and conflict analysis, demonstrated through work with organizations such as PCS, Agrorural MINAG, and the National Democratic Institute. Educational qualifications include a degree from Universidad Nacional Mayor de San Marcos and a Master’s in Anthropology with a focus on Andean Studies from Pontificia Universidad Católica del Perú.
