Slaton Carter

Slaton Carter has over 20 years of experience in marketing and business development. Slaton is currently serving as the VP of Performance Marketing at Ahara Corporation, a position they started in 2023. Prior to that, they worked at Carewell from 2021 to 2023, initially as the Head of Acquisition and later as the Vice President of Marketing.

Before joining Carewell, Slaton held the role of Senior Director of Digital Marketing at The RealReal for nearly a decade, from 2012 to 2021. During their time there, they played a key role in establishing The RealReal as the world's premier luxury resale store.

From 2009 to 2012, Slaton worked as a Senior Marketing Manager at Linden Lab, where they successfully developed and managed email campaign programs and direct acquisition channels. Slaton also focused on increasing non-branded search traffic and led social media efforts to engage and acquire new users.

Prior to their time at Linden Lab, Slaton worked at Whole Foods Market from 2001 to 2008, first as a Global Marketing Coordinator and later as a Global Marketing Manager. In these roles, they managed various digital channels of communication, developed online communities and social media presence, and oversaw outbound email programs.

Slaton's career began in 2000 at Hoover's Inc., where they served as a Business Development Manager. During their tenure, they created and managed co-brand online relationship programs and supported the testing and marketing of newly developed software programs.
