Jamil Shinawi

Jamil Shinawi has been involved in a variety of businesses since 2002. In 2007, they founded Protective Care, a surface technology company offering "preventive maintenance" solutions to the automotive, marine, property and aviation sectors, which grew to have 250k B2C customers and global B2B customers, including Toyota, Ford, Magnum Marine, Aramco Aviation, and 3,000 employees. From 2008 to 2013, they worked as an independent business consultant, coaching business people and advising businesses through success. During this time, they also served as a board member and investor for various companies, providing sacrificial nano layers protection and fabric altering materials to keep them dry and cool, as well as keep clean coatings and served 180 countries. In 2013, they co-founded and served as COO of Peninsula Renewable Technologies and Peninsula Partners KSA. In 2014, they co-founded and served as CEO of Volucon. From 2010 to 2019, they were a lecturer, researcher and project lead at Imam Abdulrahman Bin Faisal University, teaching GIS and remote sensing, urban theory, studio, urban design, traffic, micro/macro economics, urban geography and socio-economics, and working on research projects and projects for the center of projects and research. From 2018 to 2022, they served as CEO and Co-Founder of AHOY LLC and Founding Member of 24six9.

Jamil Shinawi completed a Bachelor of Engineering in Urban and Regional Planning from the University of Dammam between 2005 and 2010. Prior to that, they attended the Kfupm Orientation Program between 2003 and 2005. In 2020, they obtained a certification in Innovation in the Age of Disruption from INSEAD.
