Henry Hwong's work experience began in 1989 when they worked as an Engineer at Dunham-Bush until May 1992. Following this, they joined The Air-Conditioning, Heating, and Refrigeration Institute (AHRI) in January 1992, where they served as Senior Vice President Global Operations. In this role, they provided leadership and management for AHRI's global offices and operations. Henry also worked towards expanding the acceptance and usage of AHRI's standards and certification programs.
Henry Hwong completed their Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Maryland, where they studied from 1983 to 1987. Henry then pursued further education and graduated with a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from James Madison University, specializing in Business Management. Henry attended James Madison University from 1988 to 1993.

Lastly, AHRI develops industry-recognized performance standards for industry equipment. These three tiers are at AHRI’s core. AHRI is viewed as a resource for industry shipment data, education and workforce information, and research. AHRI is an industry powerhouse, providing members with one industry voice, both domestically and abroad.
