William Fong is an accomplished technology executive with extensive experience in enhancing business operations and member services. Fong served as Chief Information Officer at The Air-Conditioning, Heating, and Refrigeration Institute (AHRI) from January 2017 to July 2022, where key responsibilities included transforming business processes for greater efficiency and improving stakeholder experiences. Previously, Fong held several leadership roles at AHRI, such as Vice President of Information Technology & Business Solutions and Vice President of Information Technology, focusing on strategic direction and member benefits. As the founder of FongSolutions LLC, Fong provided comprehensive consultation services in project management and technology integration. AHRI’s 300+ member companies manufacture quality, efficient, and innovative residential and commercial air conditioning, space heating, water heating, and commercial refrigeration equipment and components for sale in North America and around the world, and account for more than 90 percent of HVACR and water heating residential and commercial equipment manufactured and sold in North America. AHRI advocates on behalf of its members at all levels of government, working to ensure that member’s interests are included in final drafts of legislation. Regulators rely on AHRI's certification program for accurate and unbiased evaluation of heating, water heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and commercial refrigeration equipment. Lastly, AHRI develops industry-recognized performance standards for industry equipment. These three tiers are at AHRI’s core.
