Kajal Risbud has worked in a variety of roles in the field of research. In 2013, they were a Research Intern at ACG Worldwide, where they worked on projects related to Asthaxanthin soft capsule study, dry powder inhalation capsules, dissolution studies on various drugs, and new processes of manufacturing of HPMC capsules. In 2015, they were a Research Intern at CIPLA INDUSTRIES in India, where they worked on analytical studies on various drugs and their dosage forms using HPLC and Gas chromatography technique. From 2017 to 2019, they were a Graduate Teaching Assistant at Long Island University. From 2019 to 2022, they were a Staff Associate and Research Technician B at Columbia University Irving Medical Center. In their role as Staff Associate, they studied how SARS-Cov-2 viral proteins take advantage of cellular pathways to enhance viral infectivity and worked on finding ways to inhibit these interactions by performing numerous virology, molecular biology, imaging and biochemistry techniques. As a Research Technician B, they performed Molecular biology techniques, including DNA isolation, DNA sequencing, PCR amplification, handled mice, maintained them on special diets, and assisted in procedures. Currently, they are a Researcher at AI Therapeutics.

Kajal Risbud has pursued a variety of educational experiences. Kajal earned their Bachelor of Pharmacy (B.Pharm.) from SVKM's Narsee Monjee Institute of Management Studies (NMIMS) from 2011 to 2016. Kajal then went on to receive a Master's degree in Pharmacology and Toxicology from Long Island University from 2016 to 2019. Currently, they are pursuing a Master's degree in Project Management - Biotechnology from Harrisburg University of Science and Technology, which they are expected to complete in 2023.
