Umeshi de Fonseka

Umeshi de Fonseka serves as the Head of Digital Platforms in the Regional CTO’s Office at AIA since January 2023 and has been the Chief Technology Officer at AIA Sri Lanka since January 2019, leading IT and digital transformation teams to enhance customer experiences through advanced technologies. Prior to AIA, Umeshi held the position of Group Head (General Manager) of ICT & Digital Business at McLarens Group, where strategic direction was provided to transform legacy systems into scalable, cloud-based solutions, achieving industry-first initiatives. Umeshi also contributed significantly to John Keells Holdings PLC as Head of E-Commerce & Digital Marketing, where an integrated B2C platform was launched, resulting in significant revenue growth. Educational qualifications include an MBA from Cardiff Metropolitan University and a BSc in Business Information Technology. Umeshi's leadership and innovative approach have earned multiple industry recognitions.
