Justin Byrne

Justin Byrne, MRes PhD MCIEEM, is a seasoned ecologist with extensive experience in biodiversity and ecological research. Currently serving as a Senior Ecologist at AiDash since March 2023, Justin focuses on the Biodiversity Net Gain AI product (BNGAI™), where responsibilities include verifying geospatial model outputs and supporting model development. Previous roles include working as a Forestry Analyst at Satellite Applications Catapult, providing analysis on satellite-detected deforestation, and serving as a Senior Scientist at The Newcastle Upon Tyne Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, managing teams in molecular biology during the COVID-19 pandemic. Justin has also contributed as a postgraduate demonstrator at both University of York and Newcastle University, alongside experience in social media and editorial roles. Educational background includes a PhD in Molecular Ecology and a Master's degree in Ecology from the University of York.
